Age:

So, each of these categories will have predetermined points. For example: if your age is 25 to 32 then you will get 30 points, if your age is between 18 to 24 then you will get 25 points in the category. Likewise, each category in the eligibility criteria will have predetermined points and you will receive points accordingly. Scoring between 80 to 85 points will raise your chances of getting a PR visa sooner.

However, it is crucial to note that you must be below 45 years of age to be eligible for an Australia PR visa.

English Language Proficiency:

As English is one of the native languages in Australia, you and your spouse (if you are applying for a family-stream PR visa) must have good proficiency in English. You must take the IELTS test to apply for a visa. You must score 7 and above band in IELTS to get eligibility points in this criteria.

Skilled Employment:

If you are a skilled professional and you already have a job offer from an Australian employer or you are already working in Australia for years, then those points are also calculated. However, you must mention total years of work experience before you started working in Australia and total experience working in Australia which will fetch you extra points.

Educational Qualifications:

Those who have UG or PG degree from an Australian university will also get more points or a degree from a recognized university will also fetch them points for the Australian PR.

Nominations and Scholarships:

If you are employed in an Australian firm or if you have a friend or relative in Australia, you can ask them to nominate you for the PR visa. You will earn extra points if you get nominated. And also if you are a student on scholarship in the country then those points are calculated.

So, together all these criteria become an important base for applying for Australian permanent residency. Once you have 65 or above points in the points-based system, you will be eligible to apply for an Australia visa.
