Australia immigration also works on a points-based system. You must get a minimum of 65 points to qualify for a PR visa. These points are based on certain criteria such as:

Age - Your age, especially between 25 - 32 years, has more weight and there are chances of getting more points. Your age should be below 45 years of age to apply for a PR visa. So, those who are above 45 years may not get points in this category.

English Language proficiency - You must prove your English language proficiency by taking any of the proficiency tests like IELTS, TOEFL and get 8 bands on the test.

Work Experience: You should provide proof of your work experience both in Australia (if you have worked in Australia before) and outside Australia. Work experience of more than 8 years can get more points in the category.

Educational Qualification - You must submit your educational certificates and if you have a degree or master’s degree in a niche skill then you will be eligible for 20 points.

Attend a skilled program in Australia - If you have had professional training in a skilled programmer for a year in Australia then it will also fetch you extra points.

Nomination from a state - If you have a sponsorship or nomination from an Australian state then it will fetch you more points for Australia PR Visa.

Your Spouse (with good competency in English and having professional skills) will also be able to get points.

Individuals whose spouse is Australian citizen or PR holder can also give additional 10 points for the points grid.

Relative sponsorship - Any close relative who is a citizen of Australia or a PR cardholder can also sponsor your PR visa. If you have relative or regional sponsorship then you will get additional points in this criteria.

Totally, you must get 65 points in the points grid to become eligible for a PR visa. You can start applying for a PR visa.
